Join our Head of School of Healthcare Management, Stephanie West, as she discusses the places that a degree in Healthcare Management can take you.
An introduction to Stephanie West: Stephanie joined Arden University as Head of School for the newly created School of Healthcare Management in November 2020. She came to Arden from a career background predominantly in higher education and with experience in training for clinical and non-clinical staff across healthcare. Her most recent previous role was in the NHS; as Workforce Training and Development Manager for primary care across Nottinghamshire with Health Education England. Prior to this Stephanie held senior academic and management positions at the University of Lincoln; the University of the West of England; City, University of London; and Anglia Ruskin University.
Stephanie is an optician by profession and began her academic career as a lecturer in Optometry at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge - where she also previously studied her undergraduate degree and PhD.
An interest in developing healthcare management to improve and enhance services across the UK is key to Stephanie’s vision for the School of Healthcare Management. She plans to incorporate innovative learning in digital health, health analytics, population health initiatives and healthcare leadership to the programmes offered at Arden. Establishing partnerships and collaborations with industry, across the health and social care sector, is also top of the agenda.
